I went in and ordered one set about 2 hours ago. Now, I just went in and ordered another set. This time, the order number ended with 18800, which is about 800 higher than 2 hours ago. Both of them are on backorder. However, on the order summary page of my second order, the shipping date for the proof coin is Sept 14; but for the uncirculated coin, the shipping date is October 30. Was it because more people were interested in Unc coin more than proof coin? I haven't got any confirmation email yet....

SilentAsian4Hire,
How did you order two sets? I understand how this may be possible or probable, but did you use the same information for both orders? I was tickled pink to get one proof and one uncirc....under my own name.
My original intentions, before the Mint changed the process, was to order five proof and five uncircs. I would have set these coins aside for my grandchildren. Now, I will have to have a lottery for my grandchildren to see who gets the two that I ordered.
I think the Jefferson will be the most valuable of all the First Spouse Commemoratives.

From The US Mint website: -------------- "When your order is placed on the waiting list, you will receive an order receipt. This is not a guarantee that you will receive your order. If we are not able to fulfill part of all of your order, you will receive a cancellation or sold-out notification. If you paid by check, you will receive a refund." --------------
Just because you can still order them does NOT mean you will get them. You are on the "Wait List" if you ordered after around 2:15 pm today.....

I hope that everyone here, has their order fulfilled. I was on the 20th ASE Anniversary set wait list and was lucky enough to have my order fulfilled. I'm sure the people who got on the wait list early will receive their orders. Orders placed now are a bit of a long shot.

I'm feeling your enthusiasm guys. The proof is $430 compared to $400 for the 1/2 oz proof AGE. I guess $30 is the premium for 24-karat. Berry, why do you think the price will run? I just ordered and received my '07 Proof Buffalo. It looks great along side my '06. I do like the First Spouse, but this is starting to get expensive. I don't know, maybe I'll click. Or maybe I'll get tired of collecting this stuff. Yeah, sure

I think something is messed up with the website. I got my order through at about 12:45 and had a back order date of 9/24 on both. I can't imagine that you could go in at 6 pm and get a backorder date of 9/14. Like I said, I called at 3:30 got right through and the person said wait list only, so it was definitely sold out within a few hours. I hope all of the presales on ebay will be able to fulfill on their end considering how fast they went.

Looks like ebay prices are up around $600-$700 per coin right now. Probably will go higher in the coming days/weeks when everyone realizes they are gone.

TSmith3510, When the coins are released, they will quickly rise in price on ebay and stay that way for awhile and then start back down after Christmas. I think it will hold its value more that the other two "First Spouse" coins. I do not see it dropping below $650 - $700 range. Kinda curious how the mint will handle the next sale of the "First Spouse" coin.. Maybe increased mintage of coins and increase in price as well. It will be interesting, can't remember what the legislation stated on this topic. . One of the presidents had two wives while in office and no word on how they will handle that situation that I have read so far. Berry

Berry, Just a guess, but I think they will both be on the obverse sporting 12oz gloves.

Hey Berry,
I was ordering the second set my "first lady", using different credit card and mailing address. If the order doesn't go through then I guess I have to sacrify my set for her...... I am crossing my finger...........
Still no email from the MINT regarding the order......

Give the mint some time. I'm sure you will get that confirmation email. If you don't get it, then call them at 1(800)USA-MINT. They should be able to give you up to date information on your order.

Hello everyone,
Just to let you know that I received my Jefferson First Spouse Uncirculated Coin this AM. I plan to leave it unopened in the event I choose to sell it later on. I hope all of my fellow forum members receive their coins as speedily as I did.

Just out of curiosity what was the date you were expecting to have your order shipped?
Mine said 9/24 and so far my order says "in stock and reserved" so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they will come in soon.

Just got home and had a FedEx delivery tag on the door. It was for the Unc coin. They require direct signature. FedEx will try Monday morning. BTW BKbroiler ... my delivery date on the order was 9/24.

Here is something I saw today. For those of you that want to see if it has shipped. Go to this site http://www.fedex.com/AltRefTracking...ish&altref=yDO NOT put in an account # Under Reference, put in the US mint order #, then the country and the zip code below.... Magic! MM
