My wife works at a bank and gave me this last night when she got home. She said someone gave it to her to deposit into their account.

Is this a 3rd printing shift error, and how common is this type of error? It doesn't appear to have any folds and looks to be in uncirculated condition (I could be wrong).

Pictures taken with an iPad, think the white balance is way off, it is more white in person. Thanks for any info.

All I can say that it's definitely a cool error and that I see some light creases that would make it no better than AU.

I guess resizing image made the date unreadable, it's a 1988 A.

Thanks for the replies. Would this be worth sending off to have graded or just put it away as is? Also, do errors ever appreciate in value or pretty much just stay the same? Thanks again.

Yours is a significant 3rd printing shift error. The note has some "teller handling" crinkles in the paper along with what looks like paper clip rust at the bottom left. Both defects do affect the value. Walking it into a legitimate coin shop they should offer about 30$ for it. On the retail side it should sell for around 60$. It is not worth sending in for third party grading. Just store it in a PVC-free, high quality currency holder and enjoy it for many years to come. Anyway you look at it, it is a nice pickup for 5$!

That's a great 3rd print shift error, especially for finding it in the wild. It would retail around $100. Nice find!
