I'd guess the 25 came in the junk lot and the 22-s came from APMEX. Nothing surprises me anymore.

I agree with westernsky. That 1922 is a brilliant strike, among the best-struck Peace dollars you're likely to see.

Neither coin look like junk to me.

Sorry, but I think the 1925 has a better finish, and is the BU, as opposed to the 1922, which to me looks more like a 43-53 grade.

I will let you folks know the secret after a few more people are thoroughly confused. The receipt from APMEX says "randomly selected 1922-1925" and there is no receipt for the other, so you'll have to take my word for it. tee hee...

I'm thoroughly confused alright. Both coins look uncirculated to me.

The 1925 is from APMEX - and - as usual from them, is the remnants of picked over, over graded, and sold at a premium.

Well, here we go: The 25 is from APMEX. The 22, I guess I got lucky on. :) Interesting - the difference in the strike strength.

The 22-S has a wonderful strike especially since S mint Peace dollars are typically indifferently to poorly stuck with a few exceptions.
