Just looked at this KaryShannon listing (usually this sellers images are clear and positive), from my fathers estate listing(Father must have had an endless supply of coins).
the obvers looks "funny" to me. maybe it is just the lens angle and lighting used?

He has been selling his "Fathers " coins for years. I find that most of them are overgraded. Maybe there was a more lax grading system "back then".
I bid the odd time on his coins but just knock the grade down
and bid accordingly.

That would have been a fine addition for a blunt dollar if not for the my first impression and mistake of it being a damaged rim..

Could have had me fooled ...ebay pics again...I was sure that it was in the rim ..and I stand corrected on that..

Never seen a holder that grabs one edge like that..

So it comes back to being a nice 47 blunt dollar..

Guys have a closer look The coin does not have a huge chunk missing..It is a piece of the holder you are looking at.. Pay close attention to both sides of it and you will see it is solid

You guys are totally right! It is just the holder!

Black holder against a black background... with that lighting isn't the best....

I looked at the listing and it doesn't look bad. Probably not the condition stated, but a good coin.
What would you folks feel it value would be? I could use a 47 in my type set. For the right price
Thanks Gary

garys64wildcat: I really can't tell how much lustre is left on this coin... But my impression is that you could get an AU B-47 for $135 - $160
