And it's probably not the one you're thinking of! I've been working on this one for some time and now only need the 1927-D. I had originally started this in a folder but picked up the used Dansco at my LCS for $5 yesterday. I think it looks ok!

I was thinking that you were missing the 1916-D when I saw the title. One coin to go...good luck! And BTW, "that famous overdate," if you get what I mean, would be a nice addition to the set.

Quote: I think it looks ok! OK? There are many Mercury dime collectors here who would give an arm and a leg to get the 1916-D to finish their sets. Great price for a veteran Dansco which probably feels good being put back in service and appreciated once again, it looks great.

Really nice set!
I am also doing a Merc set and I was expecting for you to be missing "the big one" Any chance we can get some close ups of her?

Thanks Andrew- yeah I know I'll probably just ebay a cheap one soon to get this one done. I collect several series right now am also exploring colonial Mexican coinage. Since I'm on a fixed monthly budget I plan out each purchase carefully, sometimes saving up for a few months to get a more expensive coin. When I get to the point I have a few bucks at my disposal I'll get some low value coins. Been doing that for sometime with this Mercury set and a Barber dime set that's about half cmplete. Kevin

Nice set Kevro~! My 1916d is an AG-3 and I love it. It was the first "slabbed" coin I ever purchased and the mercury's was the first set I finished. They have always been one of my favorite coins of all times.

My favorite coin too. Nice set. Are you planning on upgrading once you get the last one? One thing I don't like about Dansco, is those empty slots at the end. Makes me wonder why they do that. Could put in some Roosevelt ones after the 1945. OR put in the missing 45 Micro S, 42/41, 42D/41 too.

Thanks for all of the feedback. I just couldn't resist finishing this up, just purchased a 1927-D on ebay to get it done. I may upgrade a few at some point but most of my funds/monthly budget go towards other acquisitions as my collecting interest is broad. I actually got most of these from junk boxes over the years, I like MS coins for sure but really like circulated coins as that is where a lot of the history is :)

Congrats on the accomplishment! If you like unc. coins, the later dates can be bought for around $8-10 each. They are not too expensive, but they look great.
