Got a 1944 wheat today, but a couple of nights ago I was helping count cash at my job and I rang on this drawer all evening long and when I went to count the dimes, I just then noticed a 1961 dime and was able to trade it in!

Today while at a vending machine, a woman was having trouble with the machine next to me. She couldn't get it to take a quarter. She asked me if I ad a different one I'd exchange for it. A quick glance at the quarter she had and I knew it was a pre 65 so I gladly gave her one of my clads for it. She was able to then make her purchase and I Ended up with a 43 Washington in f-vf grade. Not my job to educate people as to values of coins. She went away happy and so did I, even more so.  |

Well, I finally, finally found an LP4 P in the wild after 2 years of searching. But the thing is, on Sunday at the local coin show, I caved in and bought a BU LP4 for 75 cents  . Of course, I had to find it after I already bought one. Feels like fate is giving me the finger or something.... |

Large date as it is a low 7 and the tail of the seven drops down below the other numbers as does the 9. The small date has a "high 7" which stays flush along the bottom along with the other numbers.

I looked at the Red Book and looked at the 1970 by mistake....sorry, did not do my homework. Long day at the office. In looking at the link that was sent, it looks like it well could be a small date as the crossbar is shorter in appearance than the large date photo, but hard to define alone. It also looks to be more "dainty" for lack of a better word as is the small date in the photo in the link. So my best guess now, based on the 1974 coin and the link sent so kindly by another member would be the small date. Sorry for the confusion, too busy looking at Kennedy halves I picked up at a bank today and wondering how they got that worn when you never see them in circulation. But the price was right! And they work for my grandson's (now two years old) Whitman folders which I put "his" circulated coins for when he becomes a collector for real....got to start 'em young. |

My picture wasn't exactly helpful, anyway, since the closeup of the coin is rotated slightly (making a perfect "straight line" determination of the numbers difficult) and the bottom picture is taken at a low angle.
I really need to acquire a better means of taking pictures.
