Last few days' finds: --War of 1812 Canadian memorial quarter (this year) --UNC 1991 US quarter (yes, UNC, I'm pretty sure this was collected before--no little lines or anything!) --couple of common wheats --1957 and 1959 nickels And this is not technically my find but . . . my coworker Linda had someone hand her TWO Indian nickels, a 1928 and a dateless! I've been trying to explain to her for ages the difference between the 2005 Buffalo nickel and the turn-of-the-century ones, and as soon as she had them in hand she got all excited--then pocketed them for a dime, and when I walked in, dumped 'em in my hand and said "Merry Christmas"! Now that's the way to start your shift!! In bill news: several new star notes. And finally . . . . . . . . for months, I've been trying to fill one coin tube each with AU, brilliant red, unspotted 2009s, one tube for each design (regardless of mintmark, which on 99% of them will be D anyway). And with today's finds, I filled my P1 and P3!! They're now both sealed off!! Report this Post to the Staff

I have found them even when the Canadian dollar was worth 60 cents US... I'll take pictures later tonight if possible... blackjack Valued Member United States 386 Posts	Posted 12/07/2012 8:26 pm I am grateful to you, jbuck. I wouldn't have known anything about the '72 Eisenhower dollar if you hadn't alerted me. Turns out I have the more common 1972P Type 3 Earth dollar. However, from what I have read, the 1972P is a good Ike to have and I'm glad I found it. It's a beautiful coin. Thank you. I'd venture to say that the obverse is an MS62+ and the reverse is a strong 63. The reverse has a nice mint luster to it and a hint of rainbow, almost silver in appearance. What makes this one so special? Welllll . . . it's a non-colorized large head! They were made for such a short time that they quickly disappeared from circulation (I see about as many non-colored large heads as I do small heads), and this one is a star note to boot. And then this afternoon, at a coffee shop, I was given three brand-spanking-new Denali ATB Quarters. I thought the Colorado finds were especially unusual, given that they're six years old. I kind of snatched it out of the cashier's hand as he went to drop it in the give/take dish. Turned out to be a small date 1982 D! From the surface of the field I'd guess it's zinc, set it aside to weigh the next time I have the scale out. It's not pretty or anything special but I do keep the small dates I come across.
