madness, please commit to this forum that you are not and will not "POLISH" these coins you are finding. Someday, these items will leave your hands into hands of other collectors and you must try to maintain the coin's integrity for the sake of future coin lovers. Thanks madness, berry

Kyra and Gary- Your coin is Japanese- a 5 yen, worth 5 Cents, made of brass. The plant is rice. Zimbabwe uses Cents- valus as cash is extrremely small, as they are now issueing circulating cheques worth $100,000 Dollars which trade at 6,000 to the dollar, or more now.

The 50 Yen is year 53 of the Showa Emperor-1978 in our terms, and the 5 yen is 52, or 1977 in our dating system.

gshawn- that coin is a Great Britain 1 penny (1/240 of a pound) of the old head variety of Queen Victoria. The legend is Latin- Victoria Dei Gratia Brittania Regina Fidae Defensor Indiae Imperator, meaning Victoria, by the grace of God, Britain's Queen, defendor of the faith, and Empress of India.

no worries berry. I vow to never polish anything again, and commit myself to the integrity of my collection. I am getting agitated though that every post I make is being returned with a polishing remark. I get the point, and I understand its effects. I only polished 1-2 junk change coins and had no desire to even touch my collection with it until I heard its effects. I am trying desperately to dive deeper into coin collecting, but the comments I've been recieving almost make me feel unwelcome amongst the forum community.

I had two pretty cool finds yesterday in two circulated rolls. The first was a 1969 S lincoln penny- haven't had a chance to get a good llok yet. The second find is a Russian 1885 cent. It was a 1 and KB on the reverse and a shield on the observe. I don't know know if it had any value but it's a pretty cool looking coin- not in the greatest condition but pretty cool anyway. Does anyone have any info on this coin?
By the way I'm hanging on to a lucky coin until the contest winner has been announced. It's a 1922 Lincoln Penny. May The Force Be With Me!!

For Thingee- the foreign coin is a 1885 1 Krajczar (kreutzer) of Hungary- the KB is the mintmark for Kremnitz, and makes identifying it easy. The crest shows the horizontal lines of Austria, and the cross with 2 bars of Hungary. Value goes from 1.25 (F) to 3.50 VF to 7.50 EF to 12.00 Unc. 20,605,955 minted. nice find
