What are the rare dates and mint stamps for Silver Dollars and Half Dollars. I know I am being broad, and I know there is a list but I haven't gotten my list ready yet. I know there is 1881-O, 1882-S, 1923 Peace, 1900-O, 1921-S, 1924-S, 1922, 1927 D, 1896, 1923 x2, 1881-S, 1923, 1904-O, 1896, 1923, 1904-O, 1922D, and 1903 for silver dollars, I bought 48 in total today for face value from the bank. I also have like 100 half dollars ranging from 1905-1970. Please let me know if I have any rare pieces from what has been listed, thanks.

Well, first off, to CCF!

Second off, congratulations on getting such a score! It is what many of us can only dream of.

Thirdly, none of the dollars you listed are key dates. Half dollar key dates are 1915, 1921 PDS, 1938 D, 1970 D, and maybe several other pre-1920. These aren't my speciality.

Again, congratulations!

I would like to read your story of how you managed to score all those coins for face value. Do you know someone who works at the bank? You talk nice to the person behind the counter? You just get a super lucky? Please share

Nice score. You need to get some high quality 2x2 holders for your coins. You need to get a RedBook to help you with ID and values. Some of your coins appear to be high quality. Do not clean your coins no matter how tempted you may be.

Good luck...you off to a good start.

Haha hello all! and thank you for welcoming me to the forum! I have always been very lucky with these. My girlfriend just recently started working for regions bank in Alabama and she told me that I had to come see this. Unfortunately, I was only able to get $80 in these, but $297 were turned in. I really love knowing that I have pieces of history. I don't know whether I should keep or sell haha. I have not cleaned any, and definitely will not attempt to, where can I get some protective holders for these beauties? Also got one that doesn't have a date and reads .999 troy ounce of silver or something like that. I guess its worth the full amount because its pure silver?

Well, thank you all for your input and being very welcoming :)

What you NEED to do is go back and buy the rest of them at face...

Trust me when I say you'll make out well in the endevour... ... You can buy 'em all ... sell 24-25 of them for $12 a piece (silver value) and keep the rest.. it's free money and a no brainer!

I wish I could but I got all that I could. The rest of the bankers bought the last of them. I was lucky to get $80. I picked up $25 on Monday, and an the last $55 today. I think some of them are worth close to $30 a piece, but what do I know, I guess I will have to research a lot :P
