Poll Question
Inspired by this topic and this comment... Quote: Yes, there are some of us that would scoop one up immediately, but is there really a large demand for them? Would it be worth it for Dansco to invest in a re-do? Are slabbed coins taking over the market share from the album? Simple question... If Dansco were to release a new 7070, would you buy one?

Feel free to comment why or why not.
I want the disinterred to vote as well.
For the record, I am content with the 7070 I have and will not be buying a new one.

This album would be a pie in the sky set for me to fill... As cool as it is to see pictures of those that are filling theirs, I just do not think I will ever get to the point of tackling a set like this. As always though things can change...but right now I would not buy a 7070 album (new or otherwise)

My 7070 is the 5-page version with the last page being reserved for the Bicentennial issues plus the SBA dollar. I don't know what year it was originally printed but I've owned it since 1995 or so. It was actually my first Dansco purchase. I'm content with it (36/72 slots filled) and have no plans to buy a new one.

Nope, quite content with the one I already have (updated one with SBA, bicentennial etc) and gold page...

I voted yes, but I really wonder what is meant by "updated". Personally, I'd love to see some of the (reasonably affordable) missing types included, such as the Arrows & Rays Seated Liberty quarter and Half Dollar, the various types of three-cent silver pieces, etc. I'm not sure, however, that I really care about adding slots for the 2004 Westward Journey Nickel Series, the 2009 Lincoln Bicentennial cent Series, the America the Beautiful State Park Quarters, the Presidential dollars, the modern gold and platinum bullion coins, etc. Basically, my concern is that the mint has been churning out so many different varieties lately that a truly complete type album would be too unwieldy. I would much rather have the album renamed "U.S. Types 1800-1999" and fill in the gaps. Then they could make a second album called "U.S. Types 2000-" if people really wanted one.

I voted no, only because I'm happy with the one I've got right now. I've got the one up to the Bicentennial and SBA page, plus the gold page (replicas only - I like how they look, can't afford the gold!). I added my own custom page to include a representative state, territory, and ATB Quarter in clad and silver, the 4 Lincoln Bicentennials, The Union Shield cent, the 4 westward journey nickels, the forward-facing Jeff nickel, Sac dollar, a representative Native American dollar, Presidential dollar ("Godless") and a Presidential dollar with In God We Trust restored - 16 coins/16 ports. No clue how to represent 50th Anniversary Halves in!

Voted yes only because I have yet to acquire one so a newly updated one would be great (if not too expensive)! Especially since this is the main focus of my coin collection... one of each type. :D

Voted yes. I think having a complete 7070 would be the pinnacle of my coin collection. I think, however, it would take me a few decades to amass everything in a decent grade (I'm pretty anal...).

I am on the fence but leaned toward yes because I have always wanted to make progress on achieving one. It would be nice to have a brand new fully updated album for sure.

I am not sure weather or not I would get a new one. The one I have is pretty dated, but it works, and I like the old feel of it. Heck the album is older than some of the coins I have in it.

Dansco must have some kind of really bold vision when they made these albums 40 - 50 years ago. If they make a new version, sure why not as long as the price is reasonable. Some of the world coin albums they made - in particular Japan, Hong Kong, Mexico, Australia... If you take a close look at a couple of the values of the coins - they can easily be four figure coins! If you take a look at this book written by Thomas Moll, you get what I mean. Work of art in my opinion https://www.google.com.au/search?tb...7&gws_rd=sslThat said, it's sad to think that such albums fall victim to cost cutting, lack of demand etc, only to have their real value understood in recent years. Some albums made overseas are starting to grab ideas from classic Dansco albums. Heck even I decided to make my own version. Look for the album version: http://gxseries.com/numis/koreatype/koreatype.htm

I'd only buy a re-do if they took the clad coinage out of the original.

I'm on the fence on this one. I kept waiting and waiting and finally recently bought a new one off Amazon and paid way too much for it. So hopefully they will do a redesign along with an update page? I don't know. Dansco 7070 progress: 12/86
