Good morning,
SPP, we could get into a interesting discussion about our experiences, but maybe one day we meet and have that discussion. We flip my coin as to who buys the beer.
I much appreciate your reply. It is encouraging and sad in a way because you are right. But, there are so many others who are better qualified and do nothing. thay just take others for granted.
Our club has about 75 or so members, few are between 12 and 45, many over 55 and most are over 65 and one or two are 80+.
I have tried to seriously help with getting the newsletter organized and modernized. I was stonewalled at first.
If only half , even a quarter of our members would seriously only contribute 10% of what I put in , we would have the best club in this country.
One can only do so much until the " heck, why should I care" syndrome sets in.
As for club newsletter, we have one and that is a story by itself. We have an excellent, probably THE best editor in this country for that. He is amazing .
I asked a few times what is being done to promote the hobby and the club. Well we have some brochures.... ( I had never seen one before) so I asked for some and received exactly 4 from the Secretary. Just recently we were all handed 4 business card type cards with the Clubs info on it and were asked to hand them out
if we think someone is interested to join.
Enough said?
Perhaps we should ask our host to make a topics section titled Coin clubs and promotion.
I am sure many of us would have some interesting stories to tell and learn a lot from other clubs experiences
