I found these coins while looking through halves. One is a 1976 bicentennial Kennedy proof s no silver content with what looks like a dent from the minting process. The next one is a 1999 Kennedy half that has no rim pressed it is a solid rim. The next is a 1977 Kennedy half with the feathers missing on the tail legs neck and face of the egal. The shield is also almost non existen. I also found a 2005 P and D proof and 2004 p proof. What do you think the errors are worth if they even are eroors and what the proofs are worth. I am new to coin collecting.

PMD means post mint damage. You can click on the underlined text to go to the glossary. Its appears to be common damage, circulation, coin rolling machine, or maybe a Dryer Coin.

To expand a bit, most half dollars (especially those from the 90s) were used in casino slot machines. Very few people walked away with a pocket full of clunky coins, so the coins led a brutal life of circulating between the casino cash vault and the slot machines. When the halves became excessively worn or unattractive, they were dumped at the local bank. All of your coins were most likely damaged from spending a few years in a slot machine, where their job was to jostle against other half dollars and make lots of noise. It led to damage just like you have found on your coins.

You may want to do an Advanced Search here using the key word "error" and see what it returns. By the various subject titles, you will no doubt find tons to read on the subject.

There are error and variety coins out there to be found in any denomination. Common ones for Halves are clashes, double dies, rotational errors, wrong planchets...the list goes on.

to the mix here - enjoy the learning and sharing!
