The stapling of the 2x2 in this auction struck me as interesting. Anyone seen this before?

First time I have seen it done like that. Defiantly wouldn't recommend doing it that way.

That's one way to have a round coin become one with flat edges!

...not a coin collector either..

.. someone must have gave them 2x2's ..but without any instructions...

They were told to use a stapler around the cent ,..and that's what they did...

i actually see why its like that, not that its right. with the staples in the plastic, it centers the coin in a too large plastic window.

It is inside a PVC? flip that is smaller than the 2x2, which is of the self adhesive type. The staples were used to stop the coin from moving around inside the smaller flip. The 2x2 was used so that information could be written on it.

The coin should be put a new 2x2 only, of the appropriate hole size.

Maybe someone complained about a previous coin they'd sold, where they'd used an oversized 2x2 and the coin rattled around in it too much.

This'll fix that problem.

I'll bet you they tried stapling it with a weak strike (no pun intended) and just gave up and stapled the weakest part of the card. That will tear up and you'll lose your coin. PM them and say, "you're doing it wrong."

I wouldn't buy it for $2.05 anyway because I can find one in my change very easily but if I did buy that thing I would definitely take it out and do it right, on the bright side at least the coin can breathe now.
Rest in Peace
