I've been thinking about trading in three proof sets that I got cheaply to a dealer for other coins. I have two 2010 sets and one 2009 set in mint condition with all the packaging? About how much should I expect to get in a trade in approximate dollar amount.

I know it's depends on a lot of things but I just want to make sure I don't get cheated. I would rather just keep them if someone makes too low of a offer. They are cool but they just don't fit in with any of my collections.

I would like to help you out here, but I need a little more information.
The mint made 6 different kinds of proof sets in 2009 and 5 different kinds in 2010.
The retail prices on them vary widely too. For example, the 2009's go from $12 - $63.

It's the full clad sets. I got a steal on them. One has a penny, territory quarters, Presidential dollars, and regular slab. My 2010 has Presidential dollars, normal, and first issue of the national park quarters.

O.k. Here's the scoop.
The 2009 retails for about $36.
The two 2010's retail for about $34 each.
Total....$104 (retail)

Now, the lowest these sets are selling for on ebay are:
2009 - $25 each
2010 - $38 each
Total....$101

As far as what would be a good trade-in value for you, that is entirely up to you. Now that you're armed with the knowledge of their values, this will help tremendously. However, I wouldn't expect to receive full retail value for them.
Let us know how everything goes!

It's tempting now that I got the required posts last nights. Not sure how to do it though.
