Can you help me figure this one out? I recently found this coin roll hunting I'm torn between PMD & Grease Filled Die. The fact that the only thing messed up is Jefferson's face leads me to believe it's a Grease Filled Die.

Not very common, and tends to suck the living soul out of you.

This is why my eldest calls the new design "Zombie Jefferson."

I've seen scarier toned and worn examples. :-)

that's cool but I thought at first you were talking about a coin like this one or a "hobo nickel"

I'd say it is a Greaser because the surrounding devices look all right. If it was PMD, I would expect that the hair would have sustained some damage.

I was wondering it it was a Struck through error? But the reverse rims don't look like a normal edge? So I'm still undecided.

Is the weight of your coin normal compared to other nickels? I think I see weakness on the obverse/reverse rims. I'm wondering if it is a thinned planchet?
