I just found a 1957D with a big glob of copper on the 9 so the entire circle of the 9 is closed up with copper glob. This was at the mint, what kind of error is it? Thanks

It is die chip, very common in the 50's, no extra premium.

It's called a die chip, part of the die broke off which transfers into the positive space of the coin, they're relatively common among copper lincoln cents. Some certain ones even have names, like the BIE cent, where a vertical chip between the B and E of LIBERTY resembles an I
