BTW, I saw someone using the machine for a cash voucher and the total was about 30 bucks, how much was there in coins if that amount was after the 10% cut?

That sounds like a third-grade math problem.

Well you're right, that's kinda an insult on my end though, since I was too lazy to do it right then and there and I'm way past 3rd grade.

I routinely check Coinstar reject slots, often finding a few cents or modern foreign coins. This morning I found a 1945 Mercury dime in VF grade. Very pleasant to pick up a little silver!

Im at the grocery store a lot so I check two coinstars often. Sometimes ive gotten a whole handful of change that someone forgot to check for, nothing silver or old though. I swipe under the machines with my hand, ive found a couple silver dimes and a silver canadian dime.

The best stuff ive gotten is by catching someone while dumping their coins, and I tell them if the machine doesn't take any of their coins ills buy them. A couple times I got a silver dime this way for $1. Another time I walked up to a guy just feeding four half dollars into the machine over and over again and getting frustrating I just said "hey ill give you two dollars for those". They ended up being %40 so that was pretty cool.

I have found silver ONCE in a Coinstar reject tray. It was a 1952 Washington quarter. This weekend, I didn't find silver but the tray was LOADED! Five Canadian quarters, seven Canadian dimes, a Canadian nickel, a bunch of US dimes and pennies (don't know why rejected but they were kinda sticky), and an elongated Niagara Falls penny!

25+ silver dimes, 2 War Nickels and a silver quarter in 1 year has determined for me that coinstars do indeed kick out silver. On several occasions, there has only been one silver coin in the reject slot, further supporting this theory.

Candy coins!

No luck yet checking Coinstar (as in not a single coin). I even took some coins there recently trying to kick out someone else's rejects.

Why do we have three different Coinstar topics in three different discussions pages?... Any way we can combine all three into one?

Oops. Did not realize this was a zombie topic.

We have had two long running ones for some reason. Combining topics is not trivial and it can lead to confusion, especially when replies from one topic get inserted between those of the other (context can be lost).

For now, just pick one...
