Well, I managed to complete a full year of coin hunting. It was a year of many firsts. It was the first time I did dimes or halves. It was the first time I got a Peace dollar at the dump bank. It was the first time that I completed my childhood 1941-1975 Lincoln Cent book when I found the 1949s. And it was the first time that I lugged over 2 tons of coins back and forth from the banks to my place to the banks. I did not find a 39s nickel (but I did find one today). It was a good year.

Here is what I came up with:

Boxes:
Cent boxes searched: 74
Nickel boxes searched: 74
Dimes boxes searched: 82
Half boxes searched: 42
Total boxes searched: 272

Coins:
74 x 2500 = 185,000 cents
74 x 2000 = 148,000 nickels
82 x 2500 = 205,000 dimes
42 x 1000 = 42,000 halves
Total coins: 580,000

Face Value:
$1850 in cents
$7400 in nickels
$20,500 in dimes
$21,000 in halves
Total face: $50,750

Weight:
74 * 13: 962 lbs pennies
74 * 22: 1628 lbs nickels
82 * 12: 984 lbs dimes
42 * 26: 1092 lbs halves
total weight carried: 4666 = 2.3333 tons (all carried on foot)

Cents:
724 wheats found
29 most in a box
27 2nd most in a box
1 1901 IHP
11 boxes held no wheats (brand new boxes, and dumps from a copper hoarder)
avg wheats per box (including 11 skunk boxes): 9.78
avg wheats per box not including 11 skunk boxes: 11.87
hole fillers found: 1909vdb, 1931, 1949s, 1918s, 1923, 1938d
oldest canadian found: 1938, 1940, 1942, 1944, 1947
1 Cud error
10 box streak of wheats was the longest of the year.
1941-1975 Whitman folder completed!

Nickels:
V nickels found: 1 - 1908
Buffalo nickels found: 36
War Nickels found: 73 (all but 45D)
1 War Nickel per 2027 nickels

Dimes:

1 Merc per 11.71 boxes
Roosevelt dimes found: 75
1 Rosie per 2733 coins or 1 per 1.093 boxes.

Hi there, I used to look for things like WAMs, but that just was not my cup of tea. If something strange sticks out, I will grab it. Otherwise, I am mostly looking for certain dates.

As for quarters, I probably won't get any this year. It was a fluke that I got 3 last year!

Thanks guys!
