Silver is now up for the last 2 days. This might be premature but is the end of the down turn in silver prices?

I hope not. There's lots of silver coins I'd like to buy.

It's always premature to speculate upon precious metals.*Cough....* Sorry that came out a bit loud.

Two days does not a trend make.

A little while ago here, silver hit the $17.20's, before plunging back down to the $15.70's a couple weeks later. Silver and gold are projected to have a hard time the first half of 2015. This article ( http://www.kitco.com/news/2015-01-0...uary-06.html) explains it a little bit: "often the first move of the New Year is the wrong move," he says. He adds ... that investors should wait to determine gold true direction."

The elevator still has a lonnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnngggggggggggggggg way to go to the bottom floor . Personally I think $10 silver is a very distinct possibility.

Related to Hutch's comment about stacking ASE's: What is the floor on bullion ASE's? At what price point do they stop dropping with silver prices?

Quote:What is the floor on bullion ASE's? At what price point do they stop dropping with silver prices? Novelty bullion is just bullion. If silver goes to $10, why should some designs be treated as anything but bullion? I expect slabbed ASEs to crash, even if they're labeled MS99 First Strike Wicked Early Release Triple Reverse Extra Deep Burnished Cameos. They're all nothing more than mass produced novelty bullion.

If it does happen to be then I'm sure we'll get all the confirmation we need - probably have to wait another six months to a year for it though :) Norm

Quote: If silver goes to $10, why should some designs be treated as anything but bullion? Three reasons: 1. Because they still cost the US Mint a certain amount to produce. They aren't JUST bullion, they are coins. 2. They are coins that many people collect. So there is also a desirability premium attached to them as well. 3. No matter how far silver drops, everyone "knows" it will rebound. Add those three factors up and you get some "magic" number that the majority of collectors will be willing to pay for them regardless of silver's current spot price. Just my 2 cents. Or maybe 3 cents.

Classic case of Premature Speculation.
Fortunately Pfizer is coming out with a pill for that.
