The first one looks unusual and has a tooled (repaired) edge with a probably restored / repaired edge decoration.
If this coin is authentic than it must have been welded into something once or had a suspension loop.
Also it seems to have been cleaned or heated (from the welding), which might be the reason for the different silver tone.
The portrait looks a bit unusual, which might be the bad photograph.
The second looks quite well to me.

The crowd seems to ignore this post. Still wondering why?
Did Henry (wonghinghi) made anything wrong or are these coins not worth a comment?

Hi coinworldtv (Filip), I have no grounds to say the first coin must be genuine, just my guess. This coin was bought in 2007-08 in HK numismatic shop. This is the first coin and I find the portrait is correct. The weight and S.G. are okay so I suppose it is genuine. The second coin was bought in ebay last month. I find the portrait is not correct as expected. Also, the coin looks like a debased specimen, I say it is "counterfeit". I have no strong theory to say which one is real or counterfeit. I will do the S.G. for both coins and hope to have more information to make my conclusion. Can other members to say which coin has a correct king portrait?

I borrow the coin picture posted by RockyRoad in his thread "1810 8 Reales - Fact or fiction?" that I think this is genuine. Please compare the following pictures : 1)my first coin versus RockyRoad's coin 2)my second coin versus RockyRoad's coin By comparing the portraits of the three coins, my first or second coin, is same as RockyRoad's coin? Please judge... (1) (2)

I think " bob " and the other experts are away at a coin show this weekend which may explain there lack of input, give it a couple of days for their return I think.

I think first coin is fake, the portrait and edge are wrong. I also think the second one is fake, Ferd's mouth is not right and the lettering is irregular.

I do not agree with your opinion.
The first coin has an unusual edge, because it was obviously repaired, the second coin has a different bust, but that is a known variety.
Both coins are probably authentic, the first is just damaged and repaired.

For the first one, I don't see circles in the edge pattern, I see circles with a cut angle. If this is not from the picture, it's a clear issue.

Let my first coin be 1 and the second coin be 2 and the coin from another post be 3.
Can you tell which combination is correct?
A)Portrait 1 = Portrait 2? B)Portrait 1 = Portrait 3? C)Portrait 2 = Portrait 3?
Please vote by your basic instrict.
