The pictured dime has lines on the reverse.. appears to be going undrneath the letters in "AMERICA". Is this an error coin? Thanks, Louis

they appear to be very deep scratches in the die, interesting. I wish I could tell you what exactly happened to the die other than that but its a keeper in my opinion.

Are all the scratches incuse? Some look raised in the pics.

Raised lines are proably die cracks.

Incuse lines might be the result of a planchet being damaged before meeting the dies.

Keeper for now.

Looks like deep die scratches/gouges not die cracks.

Scratches/gouges on the die, will make raised lines on the coin. Note how the flow behind the devices? The field is the outside part of the die, devices are deeper into the die. If they were die cracks, they would have flowed over the devices. They don't, so they are die scratches/gouges.
