Anyone have any word on the status of this set? Seeing as there has been no talk or action on it and that it is a 2014 product...safe to assume it wont happen?

Well considering it's now 2015 I'd say yea, it's safe to assume it wont happen. ;)

It will happen. The US Mint is not going to miss out on packaging some junk coins and selling them for an inflated price. :) If I remember correctly, there have been packaging issues that led to the delay. Just stay put.

Last I read the coins are set aside, they just are waiting (as omxfl mentioned) on packaging. Of course I can't find the article...

Quote: packaging some junk coins I was unaware silver proof coins constituted junk. Guess I have to re think half my collection.

Has this ever happened? Delay to the following year for a set to be released?

Well if the 2013 set is any judge of the timing... that set wasn't made available until 2014.

If I remember correctly, the 2013 was announced in 2013, but not available until 2014. So the concern here is that a 2014 set has not been announced or otherwise acknowledged by the mint.

As jbuck said, since it is now 15 and there has been not a peep from the mint...
A shame too. I rather like the junk coins and how they are packaged

On the Mint's website, the 2014 schedule shows the set as TBD.

If I recall, even though the 13 set didn't release until 14, the sets were sold, paid for, and sold out in 13. So this situation is not quite the same at all.

TBD must mean "To Be Discontinued"

I don't see the mint discontinuing a cash cow product which sells out every year and is merely fancy holder with repackaged coins they already have sitting around.
As to the delay being caused by the packaging it has been a year since last years packaging fiasco the mint should have had that resolved finding a new supplier in a month, not over a year and counting.

I just looked at my paper work and I received my 2013 set in April of 2014. I'm not giving up.
