Let me know if I am wrong, but this matches perfectly with everything I've seen for the D mint... now to figure out the grade. Waiting for new lens to come in so I can take better pictures, here are microscope pics.

Concur with your attribution ... likely grades VG/F something.
Congratulations on the addition.

That's the 42/1 D. looks just like the one I posted photos of the other day back from ANACS.
Congrats!

Purchased as a 41/1, cherrypick, or find in a lot of Mercs?

Looks like the real deal to me! Great find. Quote: Purchased as a 41/1, cherrypick, or find in a lot of Mercs? Good question, that would be a super cherrypick!

Found in a lot of mercs, I line up 40 at a time to zip by with my microscope, and this was the second coin in line on the first line of the night, woo :)

What a great find! I'm constantly searching lots of Mercs on ebay looking for a hidden 42/1. You hit the jackpot!

Congrat Shale, Looks like VF grade to me, now send it to one of the 3 TPG or put it in your Mercury Dansco album with proper labeling, if you desire to keep it.

Nice coin. Sort of reminds me of the 22 Plain Lincoln Cent. Just a coin that should not be included in Albums but they are.
