It looks like Mechanical Doubling that I've seen numerous times on Roosevelt dimes. The coin also has a color (if it is accurate) of one that has been buried and unearthed by a metal detectorist.

I have one exactly the same. I asked about it on coppercoins and was told MD. I kept it for reference down the road I will put it a pic soon as I find it.
