What are the best coin flips that will work with any coin? I see too many options to know which is best. I do know I want the kind where the identifier can be places in the second pocket, or the double ones. Thanks.
Rest in Peace

I'm a fan of SaFlips. I've only been using them for a few years but so far, so good.

best coin flip?, the one where you win I couldn't help my self.

in all seriousness though I use quadrum 2x2s for most of my coins, It makes them look better and provides good protection, they also come with white inserts to give you something to write info on.
for flips I've never had a problem with using the odd one here and there although I don't think there the best for long-term storage. I don't have any company names for who produces them but I can say never buy them if they seem to have a rainbow like residue when flexed in light and make sure that they are durable enough to be tapped on a counter upwards with a coin inside a few times . if they cant take that then how will they last in storage cause then you'll just end up with a bunch of coins to re holder, goodbye weekend. also id imagine they wont be extremely good at preventing toning, any way I hope I helped
Feel free to call me Will.

I use generic flips, but I'm getting some Mylar flips soon.

I use a combanation of Littleton Coin Company mylar 2x2 flips and Whitmas mylar 2x2 coin flips. They are cheap and sturdy!

Depends on your approach to collecting, storage and display.

I am a collector of World, milled, hammered and ancient coins.
I only use Mylar 2x2's of appropriate diameter. I write all info. pertaining to the coin on the cardboard. Some find that the writing looks rather messy in the overall presentation of the collection, but printed labels can be applied to the cardboard. I keep the 2x2's in archival quality Mylar or polypropylene album pages.

A tiny part of my collection is in screw capsules, but none in slabs. Slabs do not suit my needs; they do not allow for my written descriptions relating to the coin inside the slab. Nevertheless, slab album pages ARE available.

For copper coins - the best according to all the top EAC'ers is a 2x2 flannel pouch inserted into a paper 2x2 envelope. I use the mylar staple type myself for the most part, and the smaller 1.5 x1.5 ones for coins smaller like 3¢, dimes and cents, I can get a 3 row box and fit a lot more coins into a small space.

I just purchased "UN plasticized" dual pocket flips from Frameacoin. They are stiffer than PVC flips, but I get that watery rainbow look when bent under my view lamp.
Is that the oils in it?

Does that mean I should change them out?

I'm thinking Saflip Mylar 2x2 then?

If you have a coin or medal that is too large to fit into a 2x2, 2.5x2.5's are available. 12 pocket album pages are available for these.

If you don't have any 2.5x2.5 flips for larger items, a temporary flip can be made out of clear acetate sheet (PVA). This material can be salvaged from packaging for shirts, toys or batteries. Clear acetate shirt boxes are the best, due to the area needed to make the foldover for a 2.5x2.5 flip.

Just remember that a coin in most of those plastic flips have room for the coins to move. I still prefer the cardboard ones made for the exact size of the coin.
