My copy of Richard Snow's "A Guide Book of Flying Eagle and Indian Head cents" arrived in the mail today.

I look forward to some enjoyable reading this weekend as I take the next step in learning more about these wonderful coins.

I've got an older version, at least so I've learned.
Yours will have some new varieties that I don't have.
And yours should also have a picture of one that mine doesn't.
Snow asks for images that he didn't have at the time of first publication.
I was able to give him one.
My (very) small claim to fame ;-)

I believe kanga that the two of you are discussing two different books. Paul is describing the guidebook put out by the same people who do the RedBook and you're discussing the attribution guide that just was republished by Eagle Eye. I've been wanting the two volume attribution guide but it's like $250.

Oops. I forgot to say Paul, that that is a very informative book for those breaking into IHCs. Have fun and enjoy!

Yep Rick's brand new two volume attribution books are SUPERB! The color photos are gorgeous, I've been slowly reading through my copies (I got in on the Kickstarted at number #6)! Rick is an old friend from ANA Summer Seminar days and Elliot Goldman's Allstate coin shop where he got his start working in the coin business. A nicer guy in the coin business would be hard to find. Most everything I've learned about IHC's came about through Rick.

Enjoy the reading - there is a lot! I've not got past the Flying Eagles section yet, but then again I have too many new coin books I'm reading right now.

Celticsoul, you're correct.
I've got the attribution guide.
I didn't know about the other guide.

Just as an aside, not counting the major varieties, I only need 3 more IHC's to complete my set.
And one to complete the FE's.
All coins are MS-63 or higher.
