As I was searching penny rolls today, I came across this one. At first glance, I assumed this was an example of defacement. But, I want to check and make sure before I throw it in the "discard" pile.

Your photo isn't very clear and I'd like to see the reverse.

But...you might just have an error coin. Keep it for now.

Seriously, I was going to try to guess but thought better of it.

If the reverse is normal do not discard it and try to post clearer pics of both the obverse and reverse. I agree, you very well may have an error coin. LSDC

Thank you for all the replies! It was exciting to find, although I didn't think I could be that lucky. There was also a 1909 VDB in the box :)
