I hope these are better its hard to show the depth but there are huge chunks that are missing and the lines are deep ridges in the metal. The huge line on the left side is pretty deep.I'm not very skilled at taking pics of coins yet..

Hard to tell from the pictures, but my eyes are telling me that it is a lot of dried on glue. The ridges could be impressions in the glue from whatever it was glued to. If it is glue, a soak in acetone will loosen it up and you can remove it. But like I said, I can't really tell from the pictures. Whatever it is, I don't think it came from the mint looking like that.

Man, there's been a lot of these on the forums in the past few days, it definitely does look like dried glue, but because you said that one of the lines is deep, I'd venture to say that either the nickel layer or the copper core was melted, and since copper has a lower melting point, I'd go with copper.

Just a guess though, either way I'm pretty sure it's PMD
Rest in Peace

I still can't tell much more from these pics I see things that don't say dried glue like the rim on the right looks like a chunk is missing. What does the reverse look like? Can you post single pics instead of a collage of pics? Ple ASE
