Looks like an added mint mark, would like to see better close ups.

It's an altered 44-D. second "1" is much higher than it should be

Not even a good alteration either. Even with the horrible pics I can still see remnants of the first 4.

Also the abnormal gap between the 9 and the 1 is a good teller. The date looks like 19 14 not 1914.

One of the saddest things is that you can buy a certified one in that approximate grade for roughly the same amount or less.

However, possibly the Mint remade that 19 14D to help collectors fill a space.
I just don't know why or who would buy such stuff. When are people going to learn?
