Found this in a roll. At first I thought it might be a proof but the I read that no proofs were minted in 1967. There were however Special Mint Sets produced. Is this coin SMS or a an AU business strike?

Very nice. It may have been in a roll, but it hasn't circulated IMO. Whomever transferred the coin from collectible to circulation was probably the one that made that roll. My opinion anyway. Could be wrong.

I would lean toward SMS.
And something serious going on with Jeffersons cheek.

gr58, In real life the cheek looks normal. Had a hard time getting a good picture because of the highly reflective surface of the coin.

Almost certainly SMS based on strike quality and die quality.
The worn dies were used to strike circulation issues in San Francisco but this die doesn't have a lot of wear and the coin was struck with high pressure apparently.
Time don't fly, it bounds and leaps.

Looks like a SMS.
The deep luster, strong strike showing the hair and steps give it away.

That is either a SMS or a Prooflike strike one of the first 5 or so off business strike dies. Nice find!

That coin is an SMS --- These Coins were made with dies that were specially burnished and polished to give them a prooflike look although they are NOT proof.
