don't tell me, is that proof? I recall the 1968 proofs as being rare or is that the 69's?

I think the 68 Silver Proof is hard to come by, unless you are thinking 69 Large Date, then that is really tough to find.

No idea on the missing flag.I have some with, some without, and a sliver with the flag.

what I was wondering is why is it not listed anywhere.it is in a proof like set. the flag is missing and a lot of detail on the schooner itself is missing. I am sure that I am not the first to find this. just looking for some help. here,s one from 2007 look at the different and I will get out a few more 1968 and check them as well look at the missing denticles on this one plus the denticle near the sails

Maybe over-polished ,..and a light strike combined here..very interesting for sure.

I will go looking..but that 07 collar looks very, very thick and roundish and a touch off-centered when compared to the top pic.. ..Strange coins...

yes I agree and there is damage on the obverse. does anyone have a 2007 curve 7 to compare this to. plus it would help the rest of us to know what to look for . I will look for my other 1968 proof like sets . to see what they look like but on that one there is a lot missing from the schooner.

The design on the schooner 1968 and before is different than later designs, the schooner is bigger with less detail and more relief.

Never compare a 1968 coin with one from 2007 or a date too far in the future (best to compare it with the same year) because they obviously have altered the hubs to lower the relief.

thank you SlurExe97 I will get some more 1968 dimes out. just checked another book according to the Charlton standard catalogue. the Canadian mint also got the mint in Philadelphia to strike dimes as well. they both struck about the same amounts . maybe this is dimes from that mint . so that might account for the differents thank you . wonder what it might be worth

First there are no such things as PROOF 1968 coins for Canada . Second the master hub was pretty much done by the end of 1968 for ten cents .Thus we have the total makeover for the regular issues starting in 1969 . The Op coin is probably a result of die polishing. I will bet careful examination will show there are many more out there. Check your 1968 Pl sets.
