I could use the coin pros for their thoughts on this dime. Is this double die or Machine Doubling? Appreciate all the help.

It's both. You can see the metal flow lines and MD.

VLDS (Very Late Die State) and machine damage. The coin from a VLDS is reaching the end of it life. The die is a senior in age at this point. Here are a few other examples:

The die wear does not happen quickly. It is progressive.

The dies show wear like we show lifes' wear on us. It is showing it's wrinkles and wear and tear. So how long does it progress in it different die states?

Thanks for the help everyone. It is much appreciated. I am learning and enjoying it. So should it just go back into circulation or should I hold onto it?

Spend it. For more information on my address bar there are 5 parts of a video I created about coin collecting. It is 2.5 hours long, but in 5 segments. Kick back and learn and enjoy the music.
