The term "Kettle token" refers to gaming counters made by the 19th century firm of Kettle and Sons of Birmingham, England. They are brass replicas of US gold coins, marked with the name KETTLE to the right of the date.

Probably not too long after. Though it's difficult to say; the firm was in business until sometime in the late 1870s.
