My best circulation find was a 1950's 90% silver quarter. I don't usually have much change on hand so I doubt I'll top it anytime soon.
What is yours? Edited by Joe2007 03/08/2015 3:18 pm

About two years ago I got a Mercury dime in change at Burger King. It was a decent AU 1945.

We have had similar posts in the past. And as I mentioned there this is a tuff question due to the time frame. By that I mean way back when I was a kid, finding coins in change that are considered valuable today was common then. For example when I was a kid I filled my Whitman Folders for pennies complete from 09 to, at the time, about 40. No problem then finding every thing you need. Of course if you go back far enough, just not a lot of coin collects. When I was a kid, stamps were the biggy.

Not exactly my find, but my wife works at an Aldi's and she brought home 3 common date Morgan dollars and 3 Peace dollars that someone used to buy groceries. She has also brought home a few Mercs, Rosies, silver quarters, and numerous wheaties, and foreign coins. I've trained her to listen for the silver "CLANK" when handling the change.

1995 ASE, 1964 Canada $1, and 1867 3 cent nickel. A toss-up between those three.

Mine was a 1909-VDB found in my change. Gave it to my dad as he didn't have one. Always nice to see him smile...
