At most outdoor flea markets there are seldom coin dealers or at least anyone with coins on display. We used to have a lot of them but lately the clientel of flea markets has dropped considerably in honesty. One dealer I know had an entire tray of coins grabbed and the guy just ran off with them. Now if the seller would have ran after him, he would have had to leave his stand alone. Temptation for just more of the same which is possibly what the crook was hoping for. Most people just look the other way. No one wants to get involved. After that the seller never returned there again. One of our largest flea markets with about 1,000 sellers now has only 1 or 2 coin dealers at the most and now now knives, swords, spears, guns, bows, etc are allowed either. We used to have an indoor flea market with about 6 or 7 coin dealers but that one closed. We have just to many robberies lately for any types of items of value being left on a table.
Hey CPChicago: If you are in Chicago, try the Swaporama flea market on Lake and Manheim Road on Friday, outdoor section, first guy in, by the gate with white van for coins. He has been coming up with some Proof sets lately. Regardless of what he says for prices, just ague with him for better prices. If that doesn't work, tell nim Just Carl said to drop those prices. He will.
