Privet coinsrusss. I do collect Russian coins too. You can check my collection on omnicoin http://www.omnicoin.com/user_view.aspx?id=gxseriesThere are some rarer coins in the collection such as the 1795/88 MM 1 kopek which I am doing some research on and an unknown variety of Anna 1730 ruble. Oh I did forget to mention, I do have very interesting overstrikes (perechekan) such as the 1757 kopek over Swedish 1 ore coin. Hope you enjoy it.

I love Russian coins but have only a few commonly circulated examples.

Hi Coinsrusss, Welcome to the forum! We had a thread about Russian coins a few months ago but I guess it got old and no longer appears on the topics list for this forum. So, here's a rerun of one of my few Russian coins. I figure we need at least one coin photo on this thread!

It's a good coin! Looks natural. Buy the way, I want to tell about old Russian coins - you should know if you collect them, that there are plenty of copies and re-strikes were made in Russia, so you should be an expert. Another way is to buy a catalogue of copies, they look still different from originals.

So you want examples eh? 1730 Anna ruble - double struck and unknown variety. Stars after MOHET and 1730. 1757 kopek over Swedish 1 ore 1769 EM 5 kopek - 76.4g (let me know if you have any weighing over 70grams) Russia 1795/88 MM 1k over 1788 (MM) 1k over 176(2) 1k - under investigation. Said to be excessively rare at the moment 1811 EM 2 kopeks - reeded edge and double struck (most coins of this year and later are not reeded) 1814 I'm 2 kopeks - multiple strikes 1835 1.5ruble-10zlot Massive coin weighing almost 1 ounce. 1863/1 EM 5 kopek die clash Those are some of the better highlights that I have. And so on

I'm interested in Russian coins too Some of those circulated in Finland too before the independence. There are lot of beautiful Russian coins, but I think the old ones are the best ones(before 1920´s).

Peter the Great silver rubles are my favorites. However I'm not likely to be buying any anytime soon. Now the prices are to the moon.
