I am sure everyone realizes how much I am looking forward to this set. With the two Roosevelt sets as precedent, I wonder what the Eisenhower set will look.

With it being on my mind a lot it has become part of my subconscious, entering some recent dreams. The most recent featured a gold Eisenhower dollar for the set, much like the gold 1964-2014 Kennedy half dollar or the upcoming 1916-2016 coins.

Most know I own no gold. I came close with the Five Star Generals set and lusted over the previously mentioned Kennedy. So let it be known, if there is a gold Eisenhower dollar, I will get it, even if it means having to eat ramen noodles for year.

I'm reminded of one of the lesser known Eisenhower quotes....."This Victory is due to three things, the Jeep, superior air power, and Ramen noodles."

Well, I think it went something like that anyway......for actual quotes from this great man see http://www.brainyquote.com/quotes/a...enhower.html
Rest in Peace

This gave me a good chuckle as I can certainly relate to this.
This could be the one modern set that I pull the trigger on since there is no speculation over a Lombardi set.

I'd be happy to contribute $5.00 to jbuck's "I Want to Buy a Gold Eisenhower Coin" fund. (Or 5 packages of noodles, whichever jbuck prefers.)

Who's with me!?

I'm in commems ... jbuck contribution is now $10 or 10 packages of Ramen noodles.

Hopeful that whatever the Eisenhower set brings ... jbuck can be satisfied.

I might have to start a fundraiser. Or find a way to get paid overtime.

I would be up for a fundraiser for a gold Ike, if they mint one.

Would love to throw some silver coins in that bucket ..

But then I might worry someone would swap them out for
clad coins .....

But would I complain if someone took silver nickels, dimes, quarters, or half dollars and replaced them with a clad Eisenhower dollars?

Would I?

By the way, this talk of fundraising is fun, but I will be okay because I am happy and content with what I have and the family I have it with. My wife might not have been on board with the Kennedy gold, but she would probably be the first to insist on the Eisenhower.

I know I would. Not that I would turn down the JFK Gold if an opportunity were present.
