I completely disagree with having both types of coins circulating at once. I agree with the half dollar. But Can't we just replace the stupid dime? Honestly. I think the Liberty Quarter should be the new quarter when the ATB program stops. I mean, it only has 6 more years left.

I thought this seemed familiar. If I remember correctly, I think all of 3 Congressmen/women supported it last year.

To me it sounds like they are trying to make everyone happy which leads to sloppy planning, shoddy work, and everyone mad. Either change the design or don't. Do not put this half baked plan in motion.
I think the quarter program has shown that if they design it we will use it. Few tears will be shed over the loss of the Washington obverse quarter and the Roosivelt dime. If they changed the design tomorrow and released them into circulation it would take most people several months to notice it and in six months it would be a non issue.
Most people hardly look at their money.

Quote: The Liberty series would continue to alternate between the dime and quarter for a total of 10 years. During that time, five different Liberty dimes and five different Liberty quarters would be produced. Well, this seems pointless. Just end the Washington quarter and the Roosevelt dime and just use Lady Liberty...not a yearly rotating design which is what this sounds like.

Yes, the prices of the mint sets and proof sets are already high just imagine how much the Mint would jack up prices with the new Liberty coins.

I would love to see this design on circulating coinage! I really don't know why the best designs are reserved for gold.

I have no problem with having both designs out at the same time.
Anything it takes to get some silver proof Liberty quarters

I hope this happens. I think it would be cool just to see some new Liberty coins. I have a feeling it won't get approved, though.

This would just be a way to guarantee more hording of dimes and quarters. Publicize the new design, stress that it will be a one year only design, and all the coins that get released disappear into hoards by people who are sure that they will be very valuable in the future.

I would hoard the heck out of these coins. I don't care about their future value. These would be "fun" coins for me.

I'm still in favor of getting rid of all, not some, ALL coins and just use plastic cards for everything.

The article was right - each President has a firm base who would resist removing him from the coin.
I am sick of rotating designs. The idea of all of the different quarters/dollars is getting rather old, IMO.
I want one series, with a new design that doesn't change.
