I actually have about a dozen of the 38 and 39 nickels with no mint mark. They're not necessarily Hennings are they? (Keep in mind I'm new lol!)

Not necessarily. You'd have to compare your 1939 nickels (because I believe it was 39, 44, 53 and some other years) to henning's nickels.

Oh and, I have about $6 face worth of 1939 nickels that are unchecked for being henning's nickels, and 25 or so 1938's

Not to brag...

OK, going to do this in one shot. I like all my Jeffs that are in the Dansco, but these are pretty much my faves

My V nickel faves. I like the lamination on the 83. The 84 has so many die cracks and not sure what caused the flattened rim, but as there is nor corresponding damage on the reverse, it could not have been PMD crushing. And the 86...well, its an 86!

And finally. I only have two Shield nickels, and this is the nicer of the two.

And there you go. I was tempted to post some Half Dimes, but figured that would REALLY be stretching it.

Some very nice nickels here.

When I was a kid in the 70's I used to help my grandfather go through a lot of nickels each week he got from his laundromats. I used to save 1939 nickels until I had around 5 rolls or so - they were pretty easy to find. Looking back I have to wonder if any of those were Hennings - of which I had never heard.

I never did find any 38 or 39 with a mint mark. In fact I only ever found about three 1938s total.
