10¢

Looks like a normal circulated 1968 dime minted in Philadelphia.

I'm assuming it's the date that looks a bit different i.e the long 6 and the squashed 8 ? (excuse the terminology,i am a newbie).
I dont know,that's my guess.

And yes, you are correct, it's an 1968 no S Roosevelt dime.
It has seen better days though. The coin shows a lot of PMD (post mint damage).

You have a normal business strike coin minted in Philadelphia.

The 1968 no S Dime is a proof strike that was specially minted for annual collector sets, one die did not have the mintmark added to it before production began so a very small number of 1968 dimes ended up without the mintmark.

Ah, so if this were a proof 1968 no S, it would be rare and valuable. But a normal ("business strike") 1968 no S is common and worth $.10. Make sense, and explains why the OP might have been asking about it.

AH ... I see where this has been going.

I agree with the 1968 No "S" proof.

For the OP .. to be clear.

There are many "No S" dimes that are minted in Philadelphia.

They are what is called business strike coins, they are used
for circulation.

The valuable coin is the proof version. It will have mirrored
surfaces and were only released in sealed proof sets.
As was posted, one die did not get the mint mark.

Yours is a business strike ... worth 10 cents.

never hurts to ask a question.

No ... 1968 S quarters (proof) have no silver content
