. . . and I'm not talking about the middle east. No, I'm talking about the completion of my Peace dollar set! I finally pulled the trigger on a 1928. The last empty slot in my Dansco is now filled. But first I had to crack her out of an ICG holder. Here is the link to the auction: http://www.ebay.com/itm/1928-ICG-EF...p=true&rt=ncFor a problem free 1928 I think I did really well scoring her for $250. Here is a somewhat clearer photo of the slabbed coin before its release: Freedom!! And now for pictures of the completed set: And some close-ups of my favorites: This 1934-S was part of that awesome collection I bought last fall. It was an upgrade to the one I had (~VG). I'd say this one is a solid VF. I love the patina on all my favorites. The 1927 was also a crack-out. Here is the original ebay ad from the time of purchase: I hope you enjoyed the presentation. I started this set in the summer of 2011. It was a lot of fun putting it together. Now I can focus in on my Buffalo nickels and Morgans. That is until I decide what to start next. Congratulations on your complete set. I to have a circulated Peace dollar set with the empty spot for the 1928. I hope to find a similar coin to yours someday.

Thanks for the comments. I really was surprised when I was the winning bidder on the 1928 at $250. I think it was a combination of the photos and that it was in an ICG holder. I know ICG isn't even considered by many, but I found the grade to be spot on, and the quality of the holder was equal to NGC and PCGS. I had never even held an ICG holder before. I gotta say that I was impressed with ICG on this one.

That is a fine looking set and seems like a good price on the 28.

And you can pick them up at substantial savings compared to equal coins in other holders.

I really like the natural dark-toned look of your '21. I finished my set last year, at a local coin show. Like yours, it had to wait until I could swallow hard and $pend what it took for a nice '28. Congrats. Now get on with the Buffalo hunting!

Great looking set! I only need a 24s, 26, 28, 34d and 35s. I'm looking forward to having them all. I would be finished by now but I have gotten distracted at the coin shop the last couple times in and ended up leaving with a Trade dollar, a CC morgan, and a few capped bust halves. Oh well, plenty of time to finish it in the future
