Thanks, John. I get confused on cracks, abrasions, gouges, etc.

Die cracks are generally sharper than die gouges, they go "over" design elements rather than "through" them, and are usually connected to the rim, especially on modern coins.

I'm having a hard time seeing this as a die crack. It's near-radial yet comes to an abrupt end before the rim. The overwhelming majority of cracks like this proceed inward from the rim. The beaded appearance is unlike a crack as well. To me, this is a gouge.

The crack does reach the rim.
I'm not seeing a "beaded" appearance, though it does vary in strength as most die cracks do.

Anyone have a picture of an actual cracked die?

I have thousands of pics that I shot myself; been looking at cracks for a very_long_time. Heck, we have a "post your die cracks" thread. I've never seen a die crack like this. Doesn't mean I'm right, of course, but it's pretty anomalous if it is one. And if you can't clearly see it beading between the 2 and the state outline, well, I don't know how to help. Heck, it looks like zinc rot bubbling.

I was curious about the beaded look myself-also it seems to end/disappear at the states border then continue again after it...

I think it looks like a die gouge . It doesn't go over any of the devices so on the die that means it's higher in the die itself than the incised design elements inside of the die. If it where a crack it would break the highs and lows of the designs in the die. Excuse my lack of descriptive terminology. Hop you understand what I'm say but definitely not a crack
