..aaron to the Forum. Beauty of a coin but, I would leave it just as it is if it were mine. Suppose it doesn't come back as a 66.. then you have just wasted your money.

Why resend it in? If you think it looks like a 6 or 7, call it that. You don't need to fork out money to someone who's going to just give you his opinion (maybe it's a 64) on a piece of cardboard and then re-encase it in plastic. Use the money you would have spent on the TPG and buy a reference book for you library. There are very very few modern coins that will ever be worth having them cert'd.

If you want a higher grade send it to NGC or PCGS. Their standards are different than ICCS. They tend to grade MS coins one grade higher.

Quote: Thanks . I mean it looks good is a key date but dad said he thinks it should grade higher so want people's opinions IMHO the only opinion that matters with your coins is your own. If you think it should grade higher then I would recommend breaking it out of the slab and putting it in a 2x2 with your own grade designation on it. I don't see any reason to pay someone else to "try" and get the number you think it should be.

If it's a business strike and has a genuine shot at MS-66, absolutely send it back in. You can buy MS-65's all day for between $60 and $90, but MS-66's are virtually never seen.

If it's for your collection I would leave it as it is and save yourself the money. If you are planning to resell it then it could pay off but if it stays at MS65 then you've just knocked $9, or whatever ICCS charges these days, off your sales revenue for no reason.

See that's my moral debate. I do not much about this hobby. Does this coin look like a 65 or 66 . I'm so torn and confused
