This coin looks Fine in the lot picture. Does it still look F-12 to you? I have another scanner that produces better copper pics and can create images up to 2400 dpi compared to this scanner, which has a max of 600 dpi. The darkness near the "LIBERTY" doesn't help, maybe a better scan is needed. Edited by buddy16cat 04/07/2015 7:09 pm

VG8 It is the same coin with out a doubt. I think the lighting plays a big part in the difference you see. the angle and lighting in the listing shows liberty a little better but it is still VG8 I nmy opinion.

Yes, it is the same coin. Look at the white spot inside the shield in both photos. Grade is right on the VG-10 to F-12 border, I would give it the benefit of the doubt and go with F-12 in hand. Good pickup for the price.

If that is the same coin, the ebay pic shows F-12 at least. I see all "LIBERTY" letters present although the darkness along the "LIBERTY" makes some of it difficult to see. Of course some grade a whole grade down no matter what even in the VS. TPG threads.

I see between a G6 or vg-8. The ebay picture shows a hint that liberty was there, but no liberty at all.

I would give it a VG-10 with the photo shown.

Anything over 600dpi is wasted for online imaging, because the densest computer screens only reach 200+dpi (among other reasons).

I can't see how its less than VG-10. The reverse scores a bit higher than a VG-10, but does not help the overall grade.
