Well I have. In 1995 I sold a lot of my coins to buy some electronics for my 23ft. formula. I have always enjoyed Atlantic ocean fishing. anyway I sold some really nice sets of coins. sometimes I regret it. but I really had the time of my life with that boat. which I no longer have. I've since been trying to get my coin collection back up again. I REALLY LOVE COINS !!

Nope, but I have two other interests as well: I own a classic car, (see my avatar), and I am a gemcutter, natural yellow sapphire is my favorite for cutting, comes from Anakie, Central Queensland.

I sold my Canadian Victorian large cent collection, for this... no regrets whatsoever, because my coins went to people who really love that series, and I absolutely love my motorcycle...

I don't think I could do it for another hobby unless I was flipping for profit or I just hated the coins. If I needed the money for an a emergency I would.

Yes.
I've sold quite a few coins to pursue US paper money. Collecting currency can almost be seen as an entirely different hobby, although they go hand in hand at most shows.

I usually sell coins to get other coins, my collecting interests have been changing this past year or so, many Morgan dollars out and EAC stuff in.
