Quote: He came back with a Brinks cube box but it only had $470 in it. I said I'd still take it and when he opened it to count the rolls they were S & S rolls instead of the white with black markings like the last Brinks cubes I got. My best guess is that they were already searched, but that hunter rolled up all the junk and threw them in a different box. That explains the three rolls missing. Maybe a roll of keepers, and then he took two for spending. Jack, the $12 roll is incredible! Nice. That's like finding a 40%er value wise.

Well the skunk streak is over! 8 boxes of nothing and now I go to three boxes this week and I got a 90% and a 40% Kennedy! Better than nothing! Yay!

Results:
Box 1- (2) 40%, (1) NIFC Box 2- (3) NIFC, (1) Impaired Proof Box 3- (2) NIFC Box 4- (2) 40%, (1) 90%, (2) NIFC

Quote: My best guess is that they were already searched, but that hunter rolled up all the junk and threw them in a different box. All of the rolls were factory wrapped. What I have found in the past is when a smaller bank has a customer ask for halves or dollar coins which they do not stock they have to bring in a whole box to fill the order for their regular customer who ends u only wanting 1 or 2 rolls but the only way the bank can get them is in a whole box. Whenever I get a box or bag from a grocery store bank or random small bank branch it is only short $10 to $50 dollars out of the $500 halves usually come in.

Did some cruising around this week silver hunting, and scored two 40% in loose coins from the teller's till. (Rolls were a skunk.) I ordered a $500 "Fed box" of halves, and did find one 40%, which is rare with boxes for me. (I don't bother much with boxed halves because of the poor time-to-results ratio I've had historically.) Oddly, three of the rolls were a different type (Loomis instead of NF String.) Any ideas on why there would be two different rolls in the same Fed box? Speaking of the Fed, I called Cash Services at the New York Fed, and they confirmed that they do have a vault full of Ikes, and are willing to ship them out, but that they can only ship to banks with a 'direct account' with the Fed, i.e. not an armored car company. As banks are only offered the option to request dollars generically (and always receive small size dollars) they may have to actually call the Fed, instead of placing their usual online or paper order... anything out of the ordinary, of course, is very difficult to have tellers/bankers do. I hope my local bank comes through for me! As a bonus, while dumping into my bank's coin counter, there was a silver Roosie in the reject bin! Small but at least it's 90%

All I want for Christmas is a bag of IKEs

Last weeks 6 boxes weren't as good as some of the last few weeks, but still produced over an ounce of silver. All 8 silver coins were 40% including 2 1967, 3 1968D, and 3 1969D. I also pulled 3 clad proofs 1972, 1976, 1992, 28 2002-date NIFC, 2 1987P NIFC, a 1976 clipped planchet, a 1982 no FG designer initials and a 1982 no F in the designer initials. Going to pick up 2 more boxes this afternoon and 4 more tomorrow.

2 rolls today, a skunk, except for a 2006-P (mintage 2.4 million). My wife thinks that folks who do this are a little odd, if I found a roll of silver she would probably change her mind.
