I almost made my weekly goal of 1 oz. of silver this week, came up just shy with .9533 oz. Total take for the week in silver was 5 coins, 1 1964, 1 1966, 2 1967, and 1 1968D. I also found another 1982P no FG and a few 2002-date NIFC. Now that the 2016's are out in the wild maybe I'll soon be able to fill a couple more holes in the Kennedy Dansco. 2016 year to date silver 50.8658 oz.

Two boxes today. Box one contained a 1950-D Franklin (my avatar!), and a couple of NIFC. Box two contained a pair each of 2004-D and 2005-D NIFCs, plus three 40% silvers. Not too bad of a day with three War Nickels and some tough small dollar dates/mints in addition.

9 boxes this week found
2,40% found them both in the same roll.
Getting real thin around here tellers tell me several people a day come in asking for halves.

Hey Trapper, just curious but what area are you in? If you're in the NJ-PA area, I may have been someone else that had asked for halves recently.

OK... I do recall another user from the Dallas area giving up on boxes due to a 65 box skunk streak, so it makes sense that area is heavily searched.

My bank boxes come from the Dallas area too and I'm not seeing silver in bank boxes either. Too many searchers in the area. Still, most silver hunters are not looking for varieties, NIFCs or proofs, so keep looking!

Dropped by two banks. One had no halves, the other had two. Didn't think much of either half until I checked the edge.

Unlike other half-hunters, I am finding more 64s than I ever have before.

4 boxes from Friday.

Box 1 had an ender. 1 40%er. Why does this keep happening. The odds of getting an ender and it being the only ender is worse odds than the lottery.

Box 2 and 3 skunked.

Box 4 had a Franklin and a 40%er.

Any math wizards out there want to tell me the formula to use to calculate only finding 1 ender in a box when my average is 1 silver per box.

The odds of 1 silver in a box is 1 in 1000 but how do you factor in the ender angle when there are 100 enders or 10% of the whole box.

So would the odds be 1 in 10,000 of only finding 1 silver and it was an ender?

Yes, assuming the 1/1,000 statistic. However, I assume the actual chance of one silver in a box is much, much higher. If you count only enders on the top, then it would be 1/20,000 (0.005%).

I do not know about the odds but finding 1 silver ender in a box and finding nothing else has happen to me many times.
It is disappointing.

Has also happened to me a few times. Yes, it's a bit disappointing, but at least when you open a box and see an ender you know you're not skunked. I think I had a box just 2 or 3 weeks ago that had an ender that ended up being the only silver in the box. Hopefully my orders went through this week and I'll be able to pick up 4 boxes tomorrow.

My last box had 2 enders and I was thinking it was going to be at least a 10 silver coin box but those were the only ones.
