RCook Valued Member United States 449 Posts	Posted 04/02/2016 08:22 am I almost made my weekly goal of 1 oz. of silver this week, came up just shy with .9533 oz. Total take for the week in silver was 5 coins, 1 1964, 1 1966, 2 1967, and 1 1968D. I also found another 1982P no FG and a few 2002-date NIFC. Now that the 2016's are out in the wild maybe I'll soon be able to fill a couple more holes in the Kennedy Dansco. 2016 year to date silver 50.8658 oz. yelimsexa Valued Member United States 186 Posts	Posted 04/02/2016 12:34 pm Two boxes today. Box one contained a 1950-D Franklin (my avatar!), and a couple of NIFC. Box two contained a pair each of 2004-D and 2005-D NIFCs, plus three 40% silvers. Not too bad of a day with three War Nickels and some tough small dollar dates/mints in addition. jack jeckel Pillar of the Community United States 5217 Posts	Posted 04/04/2016 9:11 pm 4 boxes from Friday. Box 1 had an ender. 1 40%er. Why does this keep happening. The odds of getting an ender and it being the only ender is worse odds than the lottery. Box 2 and 3 skunked. Box 4 had a Franklin and a 40%er. Any math wizards out there want to tell me the formula to use to calculate only finding 1 ender in a box when my average is 1 silver per box. The odds of 1 silver in a box is 1 in 1000 but how do you factor in the ender angle when there are 100 enders or 10% of the whole box. So would the odds be 1 in 10,000 of only finding 1 silver and it was an ender? Report this Post to the Staff

If you count only enders on the top, then it would be 1/20,000 (0.005%). Report this Post to the Staff

It is disappointing. Has also happened to me a few times. Yes, it's a bit disappointing, but at least when you open a box and see an ender you know you're not skunked. I think I had a box just 2 or 3 weeks ago that had an ender that ended up being the only silver in the box. Hopefully my orders went through this week and I'll be able to pick up 4 boxes tomorrow.
