OH it not good here! I was happy to get an extra box today, picked up 5 instead of the usual 4 and all boxes were skunks. I am now up to 11 skunks in a row, I think 14 is my record and tomorrow I hope I don't break that record. Just pressing on and will keep looking. Good luck everyone.

I haven't do this for a while (may be 4 yrs or so) since it was getting hard to get rolls. May be I should get back in the game....
calfrope: I see that you live near Disneyland, I am not that far way either (there's one place near the I-5 that's great for catching the firework, I took my kids there a couple times)..... may be we can meet up for coffee....

Well I am happy to say my skunk streak ended on 13, picked up 4 boxes today box 2 had a 64, and box 4 had a 66. So I am happy I didn't break my skunk streak of 14. I bid also pull 5 nice NCIF, still no 2016 as of yet. Trapper and Mahgobbi nice finds. Hope you all have a wonderful weekend. Looking forward to next week. I have to say I am not happy they are changing the $20 bill, that is my wife's cousin they are removing from the front. They should create a $25 Dollar bill and put whom they want on it.

Congrats Arby. Nice Silver Trapper and Mahgobbi. My 10 boxes did not come in. All they could get was 4. Eventhough I don't keep the NIFC, I decided to keep track of my finds in case anyone else is keeping a tally. Here are the results: Box 1: Skunk for Silver. 4 03-P 2 04-D 1 04-P 1 06-P 1 08-P 1 10-D 1 13-D Box 2: 1 90% (1964) 6 40% 1 03-D 1 04-D 2 05-P&D 2 07-P&D 2 08-P&D 1 15-D I also pulled a 72-D that that looks Silver. It passed the tissue test and it weighs 11.6g. I have never heard of a 72 40% Silver. I'll do some more research. I have no way of doing a Specific Gravity Test and my hearing is bad. I don't hear the difference between Clad and Silver when dropped. I'm about 99% sure it's not Silver but I still want to do more checking before I just dump it. Box 3: Skunk for Silver. 1 82-S Proof 1 83-P no FG. Very rough condition (roller damage). Threw it back. 1 02-P 1 05-P&D 1 06-P 1 08-D 1 13-P&D Box 4: Skunk for Silver. 1 76-S Clad Proof 1 13-D I have a standing order of 10 boxes with my Bank. The Manager said their coin supplier is having trouble getting more that 4 boxes a week. I think it's odd, but I'll play along for a while. A side note about these last 4 boxes, they didn't contain the large number of previously searched (marked) coins. The ones that were marked had different markings from what I normally see. May be nothing. But I did notice it about half way through box 2. Good luck to every.

Finally crossed another item off my 2016 bucket list! I went to a bank I haven't been to yet and asked for half dollars. They had 9 bucks worth in loose halves, and one of them was a 1965 40%er!

I ran across a previous thread regarding the same 72-D possible Silver. https://goccf.com/t/191693&whichpage=1I am currently looking into an easy SG testing machine. If there is such a thing. If it becomes a lot of trouble, I'll just put it in a 2x2 and store it for a later date when I have more time. I may be having hip and back surgery soon. I'll need something to do while recovering. Edit: I don't know why I didn't think about it before. It failed the magnet test. Oh well.

CC110, congrats on the '65! I've found only a few of them in my 3-years of CRH-ing.
Murphy, sorry to hear about the '72-D not being silver, but your other finds were decent. I hope your bank is able to keep getting boxes from their coin supplier. I was certainly disappointed when things changed where I live and my banks could no longer get boxes, so I do not wish it upon anyone.

Quote: At last! I went to my favorite bank to ask for halves, and got 16 rolls. I found 1 1964, 3 1969-D, a 1967 & a 1968. This is first silver in a month. Next week I am going to order my first box. We kept telling you there was silver out there. You never know what's going to be in that next box, roll or even what the next coin in the stack will be. Last year I had a couple of double digit box skunk streaks. Believe me it gets discouraging when you're closing in on 1000 rolls and not a single piece of silver. Then things really picked up around Christmas when I got 2 boxes that contained between 50-60 oz. combined. Currently we're over 3.5 months into this year and I've pulled at least one piece of silver each week from my boxes. Just because you strike out one time doesn't mean you don't get up to bat again.

Just finished my boxes for the week. Again I came up short of my weekly 1 oz. goal, but it was a better week than last week. I ended up pulling 1/90% a '63D Franklin, 3/40% a '66, 68D, and 69D.
