Its been a while since I have posted. I post one time after joining and go on a 3 box skunker. The slot machine finally kicked out 4 40s this week. I didnt want to hex anyone so I didnt post the bad results. It sure is cool to see that so many coins are being found by so many different people in so many different places. I'm a 1 box a week person because the banks in my area do not want the dump, even after opening an account. And I want to correct something from my 1t post. The strange coin that I found wasnt from spain but it was from panama. Same size as a kennedy but it was not a silver coin. Hope you all have a great weekend playing the slot and please remember those who gave up their lives for this great country

Guys, I hate to say it, but I'm going to have to take a break for awhile. It's not really by choice or that I want to, but our water heater sprung a leak and did a lot of floor/wall/insulation damage to the house and I'm going to have to get a contractor to come in and do the work getting the house back in order. The contractor is going to consist of people coming and going from the house that I know nothing about and I certainly don't want a couple thousand dollars worth of half dollars sitting around to get their attention, so I really see no other way to do it other than just stop my orders for awhile. I won't have any halves coming for probably about the next 4 weeks. They haven't started the work yet and are estimating it to take about 3 weeks to complete once they get started. One of the main reasons I hate taking the break is that for 2016 I've found silver every week for the first 5 months and was wanting to see if I could make it all year without a skunk week. Anyway now onto better news. This weeks boxes produced the following silver, 1 1954D Franklin, 2 1964, 1 1965, 1 1967 Kennedy halves. 2016 year to date silver, 57.2431 oz. I also found 4 1974D DDO, 1 1986 proof and my usual hand full of NIFC. Good luck to everyone while I take my break. Don't mine all the silver, I want to pick up where I left off getting a little, or even better a lot of silver each week.

I understand RCook, that seems wise to me.
Have you thought about going through individual rolls while you're on your box hiatus?

Have you thought about going through individual rolls while you're on your box hiatus? The only way I could do that is order full boxes and only pick up a few rolls at a time. Both my banks are very good to me about ordering halves for me weekly, so I really don't want to be bothering them every day just to pick up a few rolls only to return them the next day to get a few more rolls, I'm afraid that might have a negative impact on my relationship with the tellers. Also one of the banks is just a small local banking company that doesn't have the vault space to order the boxes and have them sitting around all week while I slowly work my way through them. Right now I'm picking up $2000. at a time at one bank and $1000. at the other bank per week, plus the bank that orders $2000. a week for me also takes all my dumps and I never get a complaint. As it is now they only have to look at my ugly mug usually once or twice a week. Pick ups would also be hard to make because they're going to be working here from 7:30-4:30 which would be during banking hours except for Friday when they're open till 6:00. I'm also not going off and leaving a house full of people that I don't know in my house and no one here to keep an eye on what's going on. I don't have a lot, but I plan to keep what I do have!!

Carlos, Trapper nice score! Like that Bermuda coin haven't pulled one of those. Sure hope my luck continues next week. One never knows. Have to take another week of the week after next. RCook sucks about your water heater and floor. Hope homeowners insurance takes care most of the damage. Wishing you all the best next week. keep up the posts.

Quote: RCook sucks about your water heater and floor. Hope homeowners insurance takes care most of the damage. Homeowners insurance will cover everything except my $500. deductible and 20% wear/depreciation on the vinyl flooring in the closet/utility room/bathroom/kitchen and 20% wear/depreciation on painting the closet. One company's estimate was over $5600 and I have another estimate coming from another company that should be here somewhere around mid week. I think the person who came out and looked at the damage from the other company did a better job of looking at the damage and making notes, so I'm expecting their estimate to run quite a bit more than the previous estimate that I've received. Of the $5600. estimate I'd be responsible for about $900. worth of damage and the cost of the new water heater. Removal and installation of the new water heater is included in the estimates as part of the repair damage.

RCook- Sorry to hear about your water heater, I hope the issue is resolved soon and relatively painlessly. With any luck you can get back to your halves quickly!
