Picked up just short of 5 boxes Tuesday and finished sorting them today... I was pleasantly surprised given I'm traveling and last year the 26 boxes I sorted from this area held only 11, 40%ers:

Box 1: 4, 40%ers, couple NIFC
Box 2: couple NIFC
Box 3: 1, 40%er
Box 4: 3, 90%ers; 3, 40%ers; and, about 1 roll of NIFC

The 90's were 1952 and 1963 Franklins, and 1, 1964 JFK. These were only the fourth and fifth Franklin I've found in 112 boxes

I'm very pleased!
HH

Excellent, berto!

As for my 300 halves today, no silver. An 08-P and 14-D NIFC were the only coins of note. Oh well. At least I got a 40% coin in yesterday's batch.

Got four more boxes today. Found 3 (40%) and 6 2004 proofs. Do the proofs have any value? I thought it was kind of cool that they all were the same year. Please let me know if these are worth any value or if I should just dump them back. I am new to this and appreciate any advice

Nice finds everyone, not a good week for me. 1-64, 1-65 and 1-69. 6 skunks out of 8 boxes. 3 pieces of silver out of 12 boxes for the week is not good. Well there is always next week. Keep posting those pics.

Big 7 mag, the proofs wouldn't likely bring much if any premium in mint condition and sure won't bring any premium in circulated condition regardless of how nice they are. Personally I keep my proof finds unless they're just completely trashed. I've put together almost a full set (think I like maybe 4 or 5 years) from 1971-date that I've found in circulation. Those appear to be in very nice condition to have been found in circulation. If you don't want them let me know it might be that I may need them for my set and might be interested in getting them from you if you're just going to release them back into the wild.

I finally got around to finishing my boxes from last week yesterday. Not a great week, but I'm definitely not complaining about my finds. Silver finds were (1) 1944 Walking Liberty, (1) 1964, (1) 1964D, (3) 1967, (1) 1968D, and (3) 1969D. 2.1204 oz. for the week. 2016 year to date silver 64.5078 oz.

Big7Mag, nice finds!

I've been putting "Impaired Proof" coins out there on ebay or a while now, and have been doing surprisingly well... As long as the coins haven't been too dinged up, I've had no problem getting 50-75% or more of their normal "retail" value.

Your 04-S coins retail for about $13 in Proof-65, so you should be able to get at least $6-7 for each of them.

Nice finds!

I love the proof finds! Yes, I believe they have value beyond face, even if they are technically impaired. Building a set from found proofs is not an unusual idea.

Big 7 mag, I didn't mean to mislead you about the proof values, but when looking on ebay in the past mint condition Kennedy proof halves usually can be bought by the decade for under $4. each including shipping. Here's an example, http://www.ebay.com/itm/1980-1989-S...AOSw2GlXGoCU Therefore I didn't think they would have any value over face in an impaired state.

Berto, congratulations on the Franklin halves. Kennedy halves are so common when roll searching I'm always pleased when I find a commemorative, Franklin, Walking Liberty, or Barber. Of course I'm also very pleased when the Kennedy half turns out to be laced with silver!

Glad to see the silver some are finding I hope your luck continues.
8 boxes so far this week yielded 4,40%
The boxes I'm getting are loaded with recently marked coins.
Just picked up 2 more lots of marked coins looks like someone's dump.
I hope to get 4 more this afternoon.

nice finds berto and mag. For me, today was loaded with skunk coin, 4 boxes, 4 skunks. My stream has become polluted for now. Hoping it runs its course, but its rough looking now. its just all of the searched coin around it disperses the silver

Rcook your information was not misleading, I appreciate you trying to help and answer my question. It seems the price varies but I'll probably just hold on to them. In 20-30 years they could be really worth something. They are cool either wayz! would be cool to find a whole roll of them! It is interesting that I found 6 of these in the second set of 4 boxes. And found another one in a different set of 4 from a different company in the same week. Good luck everyone and happy Hunting!
